Monday Member Spotlight: DayLite Films

This Monday Member Spotlight, we wanted to say “Congratulations” to all the folks who worked with DayLite Films on the “Ranger Things” commercial last spring.  The spot is a finalist for a Lone Star Emmy Award for Best Commercial.  We got to hear a little more from DayLite Films own Andrew Day and what this nomination means to him and his business.

Three years ago, Andrew was a Producer on a couple of Texas Rangers commercials, which came from producing their green screen Media Day set-up during Spring Training.  One of the people Andrew  worked with from the Kansas City Royals (he also has done their green screen jumbo tron set-up for the last six years) went to The Rangers-so, that is how DayLite Films got the gig.

Two years ago Andrew was asked to produce and direct four commercials for the Rangers, and was asked to do the same this season with a new writer/producer for them.  He wanted to do a spoof of the Netflix show, “Stranger Things”-called, “Ranger Things”, as one of the spots.  One of the characters on that show is called “Eleven”.  That same commercial is a finalist for a Lone Star Emmy for Best Commercial.  Andrew already has two Rocky Mountain Emmys as a Producer, and this would be a nice addition, but he is just happy to be nominated.

Congratulations to Andrew, and all of those who also work with DayLite Films! We hope you can bring back another Emmy to Fountain Hills!
