Thanksgiving Day Parade ranks on Google

Like many people, I “google” nearly everything. I especially like to research events throughout the United States to find new and successful ideas shared by other chambers and community organizations.

Today I searched for Thanksgiving day parade and was shocked to find the Fountain Hills parade listed just under the Macy’s parade. The little Fountain Hills Chamber ranks #4 and #5 on Google for the phrase “Thanksgiving Day Parade“. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation using some complicated Google algorithm but I’m happy to see we’re on the first page.

For over 25 years, this parade has brought out thousands of kids, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and various other holiday relatives to enjoy some hometown fun. Typically there are 70 entries which range from Kelly’s Dance Academy, the Fountain Hills High School Band and the Rotarians to elected officials (including our very own Mayor Linda Kavanagh), Sherrif Joe Arpaio and the Magnificent Minis–they’re mini horses, not Mini cars.

The 2015 parade yielded a cast of fun winners, including Best of Show: Fighting Falcon Band (Fountain Hills High School), Best Civic/Business Float: Kelly’s Dance Studio, Best Church/Children Affiliation: FH First Baptist Church, Best Marching/Walking Group: Fighting Falcon Band, Best Motorized Entry: Grumpy/Carol Post and the Best Equestrian: Magnificent Minis.

The Fountain Hills Thanksgiving Day parade is on November 24, 2016 and runs from Fountain Park down Saguaro Boulevard and west on Palisades Boulevard. It starts right at 9am and runs for about an hour or so. Check the turkey before you leave, grab your friends and family and head down to Fountain Park for this fun annual event.

If anyone asks about the size of this parade, you can assure them it’s one of two on the first page of Google just below the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Go Fountain Hills!
