Pampering Yourself
Wake up before the sun and head to Anytime Fitness for a quick workout. I would lift weights and then head out the door for a brisk walk around the Fountain Park. I just love being at the park to watch the sunrise!
I’d take a quick 20-minute tan at Anytime Fitness, hit the shower and grab breakfast at DJ’s Bagel Café. They have a wonderful egg, sausage, and cheese bagel sandwich. I like to add a zing by adding a smear of jalapeno cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Add a latte and I am ready to go!
Now I’m ready to play 9 holes of golf at We-Ko-Pa. I just love the scenery and the golf isn’t bad either! After a great round, I’m starving! It’s off to Phil’s Filling Station for a large iced tea and a Greek salad with gyro meat. I know I’ll see at least 5 people I know there, and the waitresses are always so nice!
I’m a little sore from the workout and golf, so I’ve scheduled some time with Renetta Brown. She has a home-based massage business and can perform miracles with her hands. I’m staying there for a 90-minute treatment; including having a paraffin wax treatment on my hands and feet. I love being pampered.
I’ve got a few minutes before my next stop and I’m craving chocolate! I’ll pop into Chocofin Chocolatier for a little snack of toffee. They sell it by the pound; but just a bite will do. It’s heavenly.
I just go t done at Skin is In (yes, more pampering), and Joan gave me a wonderful facial. My skin is glowing! I think I look younger – another local miracle worker.
I’m ready for 30 minutes in my hot tub and a warm shower. From my 2nd floor deck, I can see Four Peaks and the Fountain. We also have music up there so I turn it up loud, get a large water and sit in the hot tub… it is SO peaceful.
Jon is busy mixing us martinis at our monkey martini bar. We sip them and watch the sunset. Wait! The day is not yet over… SUSHI!
Sakura Inn is our dinner destination. We love sitting at the sushi bar and watching Takison create his masterpieces. All the food is delicious and beautiful. KC (the waiter) is never far away; he knows when to pour more beer and Saki. This is such a social hangout – we almost always leave with new friends.
Time to wind down and listen to some music with friends. Grapeables has wine by the glass or bottle, and live music on weekends, not to mention a front row seat to the Fountain.
Cheers to another great day in Fountain Hills.

Daylong Indulgences
My perfect day starts with a scrumptious breakfast (with fresh juice and coffee) at Fontini’s. A bike ride through the McDowell Mountain Preserve then works it off. Afterwards a gourmet picnic lunch near the world’s tallest fountain is enjoyed, with incredible chocolates from Chocofin, and a lovely Pinot Noir from Grapeables. Following a calming afternoon art walk and siesta is dinner at Appian Way, ending just in time to cross the street for reserved seats and an incredible Fountain Hills Community Theater musical. The day is complete with a nightcap, chosen from rare liquors, at the wonder Underground Wine Bar.

Resort Relaxation
My perfect day in Fountain Hills would start and end at the same place – The CopperWynd Resort and Club. Start your day overlooking the beautiful sunrise at Alchemy (approx. $12 per person.) Then head out to McDowell Mountain Park for a 1.5 hour ride along the beautiful “long loop” (about $5 per car.) Then finish the day with a “deep tissue therapeutic massage” (approx. $125) at the Spa at CopperWynd, followed by a “eucalyptus steam” and quick swim in the pool.
