Chamber requests A-frame ordinance renewal

Dear Commissioners of the Planning & Zoning Commission:

After conducting our monthly Public Policy Committee meeting and having a discussion about the the current A-frame Sign Ordinance #18-10 which is listed on your Agenda for Thursday, December 6, 2018, we respectfully request a two-year extension with no changes to the ordinance.

Our position is centered around two key concepts:

  • The ordinance is working successfully for many local businesses. It’s simple to follow, cost-effective and easy to implement. For companies with limited street visibility, the option of extending their marketing to passing traffic is critical.
  • A two-year extension still allows the Commission the option to revise the ordinance in the future while not wasting more time on studying again next year.

On behalf the 375 members of the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce, we respectfully submit our position on this issue.

Sincerely,

Scott Soldat-Valenzuela
President/CEO
