Remember the days before cell phones, social media and texting?

Yes, I’m showing my age as a gen Xer, but the fact remains that face-to-face exchanges have the most power in building relationships, understanding people and “closing the deal”.

A study from 2017 further proves that facial expressions, tone of voice, eye contact and body language play a huge role in developing a working relationship with another person. Nothing can take the place of these.

Remember the phrase, it’s not what you say it’s how you say it? Non-verbal communication is also critical as 7% is actual words, 38% represents inflection and 55% is facial expressions.

This explains why companies still invest in employee travel, visiting customers in person and even using the phone. Social media is not intended to start or build a relationship but can be effectively used in between real conversations involving voices and ears.

The annual Community & Health Expo features over 50 local companies who want to connect with residents, business professionals and visitors. Meet real people who work in Fountain Hills and are ready to chat with you, renew your business relationship or setup a time to meet after the Expo.

From health care providers, insurance agents and financial advisors to restaurants, home improvement companies and our favorite take-n-bake Papa Murphy’s of Fountain Hills

Our friends at Fountain Hills Hearing Health is the presenting sponsor and AZ Trails Travel, Tonto Verde Golf Club and Home Instead have stepped-up to sponsor as well.

Join us on Wednesday, October 24 from 3pm to 6pm at the Fountain Hills Community Center. Let’s connect the old-fashioned way–face to face!
