The future occupant of the Town of Fountain Hills Mayor’s office is up for grabs in the November 2018 election by at least two interested candidates.

Incumbent Mayor Linda Kavanagh has publicly announced she will not seek a third term. Citing other priorities and the desire to have more time to spend with her family.

Councilmember Cecil Yates and former Councilmember Ginny Dickey immediately made their intentions to run for Mayor clear upon Kavanagh’s public statement.

According to Town Clerk, Bev Bender, the filing period is April 30 to May 30, 2018 which leaves possibilities for the candidate pool to change.

The Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce will be holding a community-wide Mayoral Debate on Tuesday, June 26 from 6pm to 8pm at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

All registered candidates by May 30 will be invited to participate.
