Monday Member Spotlight: Fountain Hills Theater & FH Leadership Academy

Another Monday, another Monday Member Spotlight! We have two great organizations in town who have some exciting things happening in the near future, and we want you to know more! The Fountain Hills Leadership Academy has opened up applications for their 2017 class, and the Fountain Hills Theater has been helping young people with special needs get involved with the performing arts. Keep reading to learn more about both opportunities!

The first member we want to acknowledge is the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association, specifically their Fountain Hills Leadership Academy. The Fountain Hills Leadership Academy is an eight-week course of intense immersion into our town’s governmental processes. Session themes are centered around civic and community services, public safety, and local environmental management. The goal is to create better-informed citizens and future leaders. One of the aspects of the course is for participants to create a project that identifies an authentic need in the community and offers a possible solution.

For consideration in the 2017 Leadership Academy, please submit your information on their website here, and an application will be sent to you. The deadline for submission is June 30. Interviews will be conducted during the month of July. The program fee is $100. Applicants must commit to the consecutive 8-week session schedule, beginning at 8:00a each Thursday, ending at 1:00p.

We are excited to see from the community gets selected for this exciting opportunity, and how they become more informed about Fountain Hills!

The next Chamber member we want to put a spotlight on is the Fountain Hills Theater. They have recently been involved with the Arizona Magic of Music & Dance camp. This is a Phoenix-area non-profit who’s goal is to enrich the lives of young people with special needs by giving them a chance to get up on stage and be actors and actresses in a show written just for them. The camp writes plays and musicals that is specifically made for the campers, and encourages them to become confident and to never give up on their dreams. You can read the entire story written by Channel 12 news here.

We are proud to have an organization who strives to hep others step into the spotlight a part of the Fountain Hills Chamber. Way to go, Fountain Hills Theater!
